How to Make Waffles
Did you know that waffles were originated by Dutch settlers back in 17th century? They were called stroopwafels. I am sure, however, that you have heard of Belgium waffles, right? If you have never made waffles before, and are a little leery about the process, don’t be. Here is a very simple recipe on how to make a waffle.
What You’ll Need Waffle Iron Box of Waffle Mix Mixing Bowl Wire Whisk Ladle
Ingredients Butter or Cooking Spray 2 cups waffle mix (Makes 8 waffles) 1-1/2 cups milk 2 eggs 1/3 cup of oil
Topping Options Maple Syrup Fruit and whipped cream
Preparation Lightly grease waffle iron with butter or cooking spray. Heat waffle iron until hot.
In a bowl, add the waffle mix; milk; eggs and oil. Using a wire whisk, stir contents until lumps disappear. Allow the batter to rest 4-5 minutes. This will yield better results.
Using a ladle, pour a sufficient amount of batter onto the waffle iron. Close the lid and bake until the steaming ceases.
Take out the waffles, place on a plate. Add butter and maple syrup on top. If you prefer to have a Belgium waffle, add strawberries and whipped cream.
Tip: There are a variety of waffle irons on the market. They also come in a variety of shapes as well, for example, round; square; and heart shaped. They can be affordable or expensive, so be sure to research carefully and choose one that will last you a long time.
Making waffles is not only easy to do, but fun as well. You can be sure that your kids will be calling to you in the morning asking to have waffles for breakfast. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling knowing you can accommodate them? Have a good time sharing this great breakfast treat with your family!
