How to Make Pancakes
If you are among the general population who absolutely loves pancakes, but are afraid to make them, here is the easiest way to make a pancake.
What You’ll Need Box of Pancake Mix Skillet Wire Whisk Ladle Spatula Mixing Bowl Large Plate
Ingredients 1 cup of pancake mix (Makes 10-12 pancakes) Butter or cooking spray ¾ cups of milk 1 tablespoon of oil 1 egg Maple Syrup
Preparation Heat a skillet over a medium to low heat. (If you are using an electric griddle, heat it to 375 degrees). Skillet is ready when you place a drop of water into it and it sizzles and is gone very quickly. Lightly grease the skillet with butter or cooking spray.
In a bowl combine the cup of pancake mix; milk; oil and egg and stir with a wire whisk until all of the lumps are gone. Let it stand for one to two minutes so it may thicken.
Using a ladle, pour less than ¼ cup of the batter per each pancake onto the lightly greased skillet.
Using a spatula, turn the pancakes as soon as the tops of them bubble. But first check the bottom of the pancakes with a spatula to ensure they are golden brown. Adjust the heat accordingly so as not to burn them. TIP: The first few pancakes will be light in color if the heat is not high enough.
Once they are sufficiently brown, take them off the skilled with the spatula and place them on a plate. Add a few slices of butter under and on top of the pancakes. To top it off, add maple syrup. If you want to add fresh fruit; a few strawberries or blueberries will be the proverbial icing on the cake!
After you get the hang of making pancakes, you can try adding fruit or nuts or ever chocolate chips directly into the batter. Just have fun and enjoy!
